FAQ about this Upcoming Historical Romance Book

How much progress have you made with this book?

Research and most of the planning is done. I have a skeleton outline that I’d like to flesh out just a bit more, and I have some scenes written out in great detail. Now that the science fiction project is with my team of readers, I can give this one more attention and officially sit down to start writing it.

Where did you get the idea for this book?

Conversations with my friends. We created the characters and their relationships to each other just for fun. We wrote nothing down, it was all literally through conversation. Over time, the characters became more and more dynamic, and their relationships more and more complex. We had created an entire plot without even realizing. Thus, it occurred to me that this would make a great novel, and after bringing it up to my friends, I decided that I would write it.

Do you enjoy romances?

Not particularly, no. I tend to avoid them and I also dislike romantic subplots. I’d be more willing to read or watch a historical romance book or movie than a contemporary one. But don’t get me wrong – I don’t hate them. Not at all. There are some that I absolutely love! The Phantom of the OperaThe Sound of Music, and The Count of Monte Cristo are even among my top books and movies. I suppose it just depends on how the romance is portrayed, how much of a role it has in the plot, what that role is, and how it plays in with any other plot elements. With that in mind, I hope to make this historical romance appealing to people who both love romance, and to those who have a similar taste (or rather, distaste) in it as I do.

Who will the main character(s) be?

A father, a daughter, and a nanny.

Where and when will this historical romance book take place?

It will take place in the 1800s. I don’t have a specific decade yet, but I’m thinking it will be in the middle of the century. Events will happen in a fictional town placed somewhere on the east coast of the United States. Virginia, maybe. I have some ideas as far as how famous historical events might play in, but I don’t want to go into detail yet.

Please note this project is not even in early stages of development. A lot of the information here may change.
