Sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned. Sometimes unexpected things get in the way of even the most well-intentioned goals. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t make do, get back on track, and make new goals. Well, I’m happy to say that’s exactly what I’m doing now. I’ve very much appreciated the patience from everyone and ask for just a little bit more. I need to reorganize my work and come up with a new timeline. With that said, I do have some updates for each of my works in progress and also for The Red Flag. So here’s a rundown of where each project currently stands and what’s to come. I’ll also share details on the upcoming game plan to finish them and get them in your hands to read.
The Science Fiction Project
In the previous progress report, the last update I made for this project was getting it ready to go to my revision team. At this point in time, the revision team has read it once and given me their initial feedback. I’ve also had some discussions with them, mostly talking about characters and plot issues. There are a lot of issues because I didn’t quite get it as finished as I should have before sending it to them. I had already anticipated rewriting some scenes and their feedback will help me to do that.
Now that I’m back on track with this project, I took some time to reread it. I’m not too happy with it and it needs a lot of improvement. Essentially, I’m not satisfied with the work I’ve completed. I would much rather take the time to make it right than say it’s good enough. I’m going to use my most recent draft as a building block to create a new first draft. I’m not rewriting the book, just overhauling it in a major way. It’s too early to know what doing so will look like, but it will involve a lot of copying, pasting, and revising. I’m still on track to release this one next.
The Historical Romance Project
The most recent update I gave about this project was that I would begin its planning. Currently, I finished the research and made a rough outline for the plot. I’m ready to dive in and begin the actual writing, but I need to go back and make sure I’m properly prepared. That means reviewing my research and expanding upon the outline as needed. The characters are all set, I just need to double-check the plot points of the overall arc.
The Red Flag
We are approaching a certain time of the year when people speak with a specific kind of accent for fun. This day will be upon us very soon, and it’s worth looking out for if you haven’t yet downloaded The Red Flag Kindle edition. There will be another update to come, so keep an eye out for it.
